Jewelry Trends For 2014

January 7th, 2014

As we kick off 2014, we’re looking ahead to the trends in jewelry for the year. Jewelry and fashion go hand in hand, so we took a look at the spring runways from New York, London, Paris and Milan. We saw dazzling jewelry ranging from large chains at Balmain to gold bracelets at Chloe and chokers at Saint Laurent. Read on as we take a look at the trends we expect to see this year in jewelry.

Pantone Color of The Year – Radiant Orchid

Pantone, the worldwide color authority recently announced that Radiant Orchid is the Color of The Year.  Somewhere between a pinky-purple and vibrant fuchsia, expect to see a lot of this color in fashion and jewelry.  Other hot colors making up the spring color palette are Placid Blue, Celosia Orange and Cayenne.

Year of The Horse

According to the Chinese Zodiac, 2014 is the Year of the Horse.  Last year we saw a big trend in snake jewelry during the Year of the Snake.  Expect to see large pendants, animal heads and of course, the horse in many bold designs.  This horse bangle by Roberto Coin is exquisite.

All Choked Up

Chokers are hot, hot, hot!  Whether you favor gold, silver, blackened metals or colorful gemstones, this will be a hot accessory this year.  We are loving this Shanghai Choker Necklace by Roberto Coin in all the colors for spring.

Gold Rush

Gold was a popular look on the spring runways and at the last couple award shows.  Stars glittered in gold on the red carpet and we can expect to see more gold designs this year as well. Go for the gold with these beautiful pieces by Ippolita.

Stack Them Up!

Why wear one cuff bracelet when you can wear two?  Cuffs on both wrists were a big look on the spring runways.  Stack them on with these cuffs by John Hardy.

Watch Out!

Oversized watches are the must-have accessory this year.  Get the look with this 42 MM Ballon Bleu by Cartier.

Geometry Is Not Just For School

Geometric shapes are another hot look from the spring runways.  We saw this trend last year and it is continuing into 2014.  Be on the look-out for cool geometric pieces that are circular, triangular and square.  We think this bracelet by Ippolita is a knock-out!

What’s The Word?

Necklaces with messages and words will be all the rage this spring.  Our latest crush is this diamond love necklace by Djula.

Chain Reaction

Large links and chains will be on trend this spring.  Join the chain gang with this Jaipur Link bracelet by Marco Bicego.
